Gourmet Chicken

Last week a man knocked the door just as Janeece was trying to put the kids down for a nap while in the middle of a variety of business calls. He was selling gourmet chicken that cost over $300 for 15 pounds. But with kids screaming, Janeece frazzled, the man drops the price and sells Janeece six boxes of frozen chicken for $150. For you non-math people (unlike my wife), that's $10 per pound. She was just trying to get the guy off the door step and felt distraught the rest of the day. Dusty didn't say anything, but secretly reconsidered a career in door-to-door gourmet food sales.

After a long week, we had a date night this past Friday. Red beans and rice with GOURMET southwest chicken breasts. It was good. If only we had served it in the glass dish that we bought for our anniversary.

PS- Janeece just wants me to reassure everyone that we are usually not this extravagant. We buy bulk at Winco, shop at thrift stores, drive old cars...and occasionally splurge on $10 per pound gourmet chicken.

Janeece . . . did what? I'm still rolling with laughter.
